The value of a unified platform for data management

Tuesday, Oct. 12 @ 4 ET I'll be speaking on The Briefing Room about the value of a unified platform for data management.

I'll be discussing:

  • What does a unified platform actually mean?
  • Can one platform do data quality, data integration, master data management and data governance?
  • And if so, how can you determine which vendor does what?

I'll brief open-source integration upstart Talend, which touts the value of a unified, purpose-built data management platform that combines DI, DQ and MDM. They report thousands of customers (not all paying), and a strong community akin to most open-source movements. But are they as fast, effective, robust and polished as major closed-source data integration vendors? We'll find out!
