    It is so hard, in many instances, to separate the role played by IT in systems that have already been purchased. I guess these companies, like the BI tools vendors, are always hopeful to capture more potential customers. The role of IT as the data backbone of the enterprise application systems is the way to go.

    And will this be solved by automated ds platforms that can connect businesses to the relevant external data too? Is it a question of connecting to the right data?
