I had one of my most pleasant teaching assignments last week. I taught a 3 day DW/BI course with hands-on Microsoft workshops at Colby College in Waterville, Maine during a sunny, warm August spell.
Colby in one of the three elite liberal arts schools in Maine, the others being Bowdoin and Bates, offering a terrific education in beautiful Maine. I vacation every year in Maine and enjoy skiing there in the winter so my perspective is very biased.
Besides the setting, it is also great when the folks you are teaching are smart, energetic and eager to learn. And it is an additional bonus driving home and getting lobster in South Freeport along the water.

Go Maine! Mainers are inherently practical so I have found IT people from Maine to be perhaps a little more adaptive to BI/DW than a random sample of the population.
Shawn,
Maybe it’s the weather or being more rural, except for Portland, but the Mainers do seem to be very pragmatic and resourceful…and receptive to BI/DW.
I am biased because of several ties to Maine. Maybe you have some ties too?
Thanks, Rick
